Playing cards hope to garner new leads in cold cases

Jumpstarting cold cases and other unsolved crimes in Missouri might soon be literally all in the cards.A Missouri Highway Patrol initiative that uses customized playing cards to showcase unsolved homicides, missing persons, wanted fugitives and case profiles is scheduled to begin Feb 1.The hope is that the initiative will generate tips from inmates incarcerated in county jails and the Missouri Department of Corrections facilities throughout the state.The Callaway County Jail is among those who will receive some of more than 5,000 decks that will be distributed.
